It’s been a great deal of work, and after over 100 pages of new content, but we’re now in our 7th Beta play test. It’s pretty exciting! We had our first session this morning, and it was a lot of fun. I will write a brief recap of the session in another post.
The new content offers a wealth of options for character encounters. The thing I’m most interested in fleshing out during the playtest is how characters negotiate actions–both general actions and specialized actions. General actions are the basic impromptu actions that characters envision as creative solutions to puzzles or encounters. Specialized actions are the intricate actions with variable outcomes that emerge from a character’s advanced training. Negotiating actions in the moment between a character’s expertise and their contextual needs should be pretty cool, and I hope the new content will provide a good balance.
The variety of character types are more dynamic now as well, which means adventure parties are far less archetypal. I’m looking forward to continuing the playtest!
